Night competition is one of the Club's strengths, with various teams playing Monday to Thursday nights, inclusive,
in BDNTA (Blackburn & District Night Tennis Association).
You can play on more than one night, should you choose. The cost currently is $8 per Doubles match or $10 Singles/Doubles.
Standard varies from very good to okay and there are various formats -

Open* Doubles (Monday to Thursday inclusive)
Open* Singles/Doubles (Thursday nights only, three players)
    Women's Doubles (Monday nights only)
    * Open teams have no defined composition of men and women.
Matches start at 7 pm and generally finish around 10 pm. Matches are on a home and away basis with other clubs, mostly not too far away. A doubles team consists of 4 players. Each player plays three sets, playing with each of the other team members.
Some teams like to make it a more social evening by having food and drinks at the end of play.
Seasons run from February through to June, and then late July through to November, with entries to each closing several weeks prior. There are no matches during school holidays, but this is when Wednesday social nights kick in, as well as between seasons.

Some of our teams have played together for many years. However, we always endeavour to fit newcomers into a team, depending on standard and availability, This is not always easy and we can't guarantee a spot right off. Sometimes it might mean waiting for a new team to form.
Newcomers, or anyone contemplating playing, are invited to attend and play on social Wednesday evenings between seasons and during school holidays from 7 pm, where you can check out us, and your standard can be assessed and recommendations made.

Social Night Tennis. Courts can be booked by any member. The cost is $10 per court per hour.
Availability of courts will depend on competition and coaching demands.
Members may invite any number of visitors to play but a member must be present. A visitor fee of $5 per adult and $2.50 per junior applies and must be paid into the clubhouse safe PRIOR to starting play.
Contact Charles Philactides 0413 998 385, Lynn Heath 9848 4757 or a Committee member (list on clubhouse noticeboard or Home Page) to arrange for access.
